About Sara
Sara Shirazian is a Persian-American Muslim poet and editor. She received her Bachelor’s in English with a minor in Professional Writing at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Her extensive editorial work at the Daily Bruin and Al-Talib Newsmagazine paved the way to her profession as an editor at the Orange County Business Journal and a freelance book editor. As a book editor, Shirazian has edited “The Brother of the Messenger” by Sayed Moustafa Al-Qazwini PhD and is currently editing “Kitab” by Hassan Ali Alamar.
Shirazian’s poems have been published in the San Diego Poetry Annual and Al-Talib Newsmagazine. With a YouTube presence of over 13K views, she recites poetry at her home mosque, IECOC, to an in-person and online audience.
She currently resides in Orange County, California.
Editor
Shirazian aims to help writers reflect their voices and authentic selves in their writing. Through one-on-one guidance and critical feedback, she assists reporters, authors and poets. Her editorial projects include: “The Brother of the Messenger” by Sayed Moustafa Al-Qazwini, PhD, “Kitab” by Hassan Ali Alamar, weekly articles by a team of reporters at the Orange County Business Journal and Daily Bruin, and poetry, articles and news reports from the writers at Al-Talib Newsmagazine.
